I have always been interested in design, however, I started back in the days of Web 2.0 where HTML was in its infancy, and there was no such thing as CSS. Websites were built within tables, and having any images would slow loading times down. Everything relied on blocks of text and basically, websites and pages were just whole pages of texts.
I got my start in Web Design purely by accident. I had come off a 4 month internship, and was getting back into school, and was actually pursuing a study in 3D modeling and animation. I spent most of my time in our school lab, and in between renderings, I picked up an HTML 4.0 book and started reading up on how much HTML and design had changed. People were now getting access to cable based internet, so that meant sites could show images without worry of loading times.
I learned how to design with Adobe Photoshop and using Macromedia Dreamweaver to make my first website. I then delved into the world of CSS when that was new, and from CSS 1.0 to CSS 3 today, I've learned how to create websites of all types, including responsive designs.
Today, there are many tools that make designing sites very fast and easy, and very few that meet standards that can be intuitive to use. I've built from scratch and relied on existing templates to modify to meet many project needs. I'm open to always learning new techniques and tools, to help build my portfolio.
